Eastern Pennsylvania school district to add 35 autogas buses

School busThe Upper Moreland School District based in Upper Moreland Township, Pa., plans to add 35 new propane autogas buses to its fleet this school year.

The autogas buses will replace some of the school district’s diesel-powered buses. All of the new buses are from Blue Bird and come equipped with Roush CleanTech propane fuel systems. According to The Intelligencer, the school district paid more than $2.7 million for the buses, but the school district expects to see more than $200,000 in savings per year using the autogas buses.

The Upper Moreland School District added a propane station on-site to fuel its new fleet. The school district plans to have all of its autogas buses ready to run in August.
