Giant Factories recalls water heaters
Giant Factories recalled some of its propane and natural gas water heaters in 30-, 40-, 50- and 60-gallon capacities, which were sold between April and October 2014 in Maryland, New York and Pennsylvania. On units with a space between the bottom of the water tank and combustion chamber, the flame arrestor can fail and might create a fire or explosion if flammable liquids or gases are nearby.
Consumers of these water heaters can contact Giant for a free inspection. Giant can also replace the water heater free of charge if it poses a hazard. To date, no injuries or incidents have been reported with these water heaters.
