Griffin’s Propane sells to undisclosed buyer

November 7, 2024 By

Griffin’s Propane, located in Silver City, New Mexico, sold to an undisclosed buyer.

Legacy Energy Consulting, a merger and acquisitions consulting firm led by Chad Pendill and Tyler Pendill, announced the sale.

Griffin’s Propane was established in 1991 by Richard and Charlotte Griffin to provide propane services to the community of Silver City in southwest New Mexico. They grew their business to include four locations in New Mexico and four in Arizona with the assistance of their daughter Lindsay, who joined the business in 2014, and their son-in-law Alex, who joined in 2019.

“It was a difficult decision to sell the company that we had spent the last 34 years building,” the Griffin family says in a news release. “We received exceptional guidance from Chad, Tyler and the entire Legacy Energy Consulting team. They made the transition smooth and understood the importance of finding the right buyer that aligned with our values regarding customer service and business culture with our employees. We are very pleased to know that our employees, customers and communities will be in good hands.”

Legacy Energy Consulting delivered merger and acquisition services to Griffin’s Propane. According to Legacy, the services encompassed the initial valuation, discreetly marketing the business to potential buyers through an efficient and structured sale process, negotiating the final deal structure and managing the due diligence process between the seller and the eventual buyer. Chad Pendill and Tyler Pendill managed the transaction, the fifth for Legacy in 2024 and its 21st since 2020.

“Richard, Charlotte, Lindsay and Alex have built an impressive enterprise and established themselves as a leading propane company in the southwestern United States,” Chad Pendill says. “It was a pleasure getting to know them and gaining their trust to represent them in the sale of their business.”
