Hawaii marketer increases storage by 25 percent

The Gas Company, a Hawaiian propane and natural gas provider, has added 180,000 gallons of propane storage on Maui.

The expansion represents a 25-percent increase in the company’s propane storage capacity on the island. The Gas Company is also planning to increase its storage capacity on the islands of Oahu and Kauai.

“This new facility represents [our] commitment to reliability of service and improved energy security for Maui,” says Mustafa Demirbag, general manager of The Gas Company in Maui County. “It enables us to meet the growing demand for clean gas energy while providing ample supply for customers’ needs. The existing and new tanks can provide up to five weeks of clean gas energy for Maui customers.”
