The Missouri Propane Education & Research Council (MOPERC) named Luke Fitzpatrick from Wardsville, Missouri, as its first COO.

In the newly created position, Fitzpatrick will lead MOPERC’s new autogas demonstration program and its residential homebuilder and homeowner advocacy programs. He will also have responsibilities with internal operations of both MOPERC and its partner, the Missouri Propane Gas Association (MPGA). Fitzpatrick also serves as president on the MPGA’s 2022-23 board of directors.

“We are thrilled to have Luke join our team,” says Steve Ahrens, MOPERC president and 2023 LP Gas Hall of Fame inductee. “His depth of knowledge and industry experience aligns perfectly with our mission to educate and assist Missouri homeowners and businesses find a better energy solution.”

Fitzpatrick was named as a 2017 LP Gas Rising Leader and has been with MFA Oil for the past 15 years, working primarily as a district sales manager.

Fitzpatrick previously served the council’s board of directors, which recently installed its 2023 leadership at the group’s winter meeting in Ridgedale, Missouri.

MOPERC is a not-for-profit organization authorized by the Missouri legislature to administer a statewide checkoff program. Proceeds are used for industry training, consumer safety, appliance rebates and market development programs, MOPERC says. The council is composed of 15 volunteer directors and is administered by executive staff.
