Superior Plus completes third propane acquisition in California

October 19, 2020 By

Superior Plus Propane of Rochester, New York, a wholly owned subsidiary of Toronto-based Superior Plus Corp., acquired all of the equity interests of a Southern California retail propane distribution company operating under the trade name Central Coast Propane.

Founded in 1992, and located in Paso Robles, California, Central Coast Propane is an independent retail propane distributor serving about 2,800 residential and commercial customers in Southern California.

“The acquisition of Central Coast is Superior’s fourth acquisition in 2020 and third retail propane acquisition in California,” says Luc Desjardins, president and CEO of Superior Plus Corp. “Central Coast has an attractive mix of residential and commercial customers, and we anticipate this acquisition will provide synergy opportunities with our existing retail and wholesale propane operations in California.”

Superior Plus Propane expanded its footprint in Southern California earlier this year with the acquisition of Western Propane Service. It also acquired Rymes Propane and Oil of New Hampshire and Champagne’s Energy of Maine this year.

Superior Plus Corp. consists of two primary operating businesses: Energy Distribution includes the distribution of propane and distillates, and supply portfolio management; Specialty Chemicals includes the production and sale of specialty chemicals.
