North American truck transporter Team Drive-Away acquired the drive-away businesses of IXT Logistics based in Kansas City, Kansas, as well as Transportation Booking Services of Kansas City, Missouri. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

The new partnerships add to Team Drive-Away in the Class 5-8 truck drive-away market – including vehicle and tank relocation for propane marketers. The partnerships increase its service capacity through the expansion of its team of independent delivery professionals and logisticians. The transactions, which closed earlier this month, will aid Team Drive-Away in continuing its commitment to customer service through timely, safe and damage-free truck deliveries, says the company.

“Team Drive-Away can help propane marketers with both vehicle and tank relocation moves, keeping customers’ valuable employees engaged in profit making activities,” says Steve Wambold, president of Team Drive-Away. “Additionally, Team Drive-Away is working with several up-fitters who manufacture bobtails and will be involved in the delivery and pick up of both new and used vehicles.”

Team Drive-Away will also exhibit at the upcoming National Propane Gas Association Southeastern Convention & International Propane Expo in Nashville, Tennessee. The company transports diverse types of Class 5-8 trucks for dealers, up-fitters, fleets, auctions and others, whether as single moves or in multi-truck decked or boom configurations.

“The IXT Logistics and Transportation Booking Services partnerships are a win-win for our customers and independent delivery professionals,” says Wambold. “They expand Team Drive-Away’s ability to serve customers, including propane marketers, over a broader geographic area, and, importantly, a larger driver network gives us more service capacity.”

These transactions represent the first acquisitions for Team Drive-Away since being acquired by United Road Services in the fall of 2019. United Road, a portfolio company of The Carlyle Group, is a finished vehicle logistics provider that uses proprietary technology to expedite the movement of more than 4 million new and re-marketed cars and light trucks annually.
