TerraVest Industries acquires Mississippi Tank

TerraVest Industries Inc. acquired all of the issued and outstanding shares of Mississippi Tank and Manufacturing Co.

TerraVest Industries and Mississippi Tank join forces as manufacturers of LPG and compressed gas storage tanks, transports and bobtails, as well as providers of repair, service and supply centers across North America.

Mississippi Tank, with operations in Hattiesburg and Southaven, Mississippi, and in Vincennes, Indiana, has been a mainstay in the LPG equipment manufacturing business since its inception in 1945.

“With a primary manufacturing facility in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, an assembly facility in Vincennes, Indiana, and MTankCo Supply in Southaven, Mississippi, they are a seamless fit to the existing network of TerraVest Industries’ operations,” says Mitch DeBelser, president of TerraVest’s compressed gas division.

TerraVest Industries says the addition of three locations through the acquisition will bolster its geographic coverage, increasing the access points by which customers can obtain TerraVest and Mississippi Tank products and services. MTankCo Supply will become an important part of TerraVest’s overall supply chain, the company adds.

“We want our long-term and loyal customers to know Mississippi Tank will continue to provide excellent service and high-quality products just as we always have,” says Bobby Threatt, executive vice president at Mississippi Tank. “Additionally, we will continue to be managed and operated independently by the current management team. A big benefit to our customers will be that with the help of TerraVest Industries, we’ll have the benefit of added manufacturing scale and resources to further enhance our competitiveness. There will also be an increase in new products we’ll now be able to offer while maintaining the products our customers are used to purchasing from us.”

TerraVest Industries will acquire Mississippi Tank using existing cash and credit facilities.

TerraVest, with locations across Canada and the U.S., is a manufacturer of home heating products; propane, anhydrous ammonia and natural gas liquids transport vehicles and storage vessels; energy processing equipment; and fiberglass storage tanks. Its brands include Countryside Tank Co., Fischer Tanks, MaXfield, Pro-Par and Signature Truck Systems.
