ThompsonGas buys Polar Gas
Frederick, Maryland-based ThompsonGas has purchased Polar Gas, which serves eight different locations in Colorado.
With the acquisition, customers and employees of Polar Gas will join the ThompsonGas team.
“The Reed family has built a legacy of quality and hard work, and we fully intend to uphold and build upon that legacy,” says Jeff Kerns, CEO of ThompsonGas.
“Nathan and Chris Reed have built a business based on core values that blend seamlessly with ours,” says Derek Ashmore, regional vice president of ThompsonGas. “We look forward to watching our footprint continue to grow throughout the Colorado market.”
This acquisition further expands ThompsonGas’ capabilities in the Rocky Mountains and is the company’s fifth acquisition of 2021.
This year, it also acquired the propane assets of Timberline Gas and its affiliate companies; Ultra Energy of Hammond, Wisconsin; certain bulk propane assets of Airgas USA in Maryland, southeastern Pennsylvania and West Virginia; and All Service Propane of Anderson, California.
Founded in 1946, ThompsonGas provides propane services to more than 230,000 residential and commercial customers across 21 states in the East, Southeast, West and Midwest. The company ranks No. 6 among U.S. propane marketers for sales of retail propane gallons, according to LP Gas’ 2021 Top Propane Retailers ranking.
