Frederick, Maryland-based ThompsonGas will display its new propane autogas-powered vehicles at the National Propane Gas Association’s Southeastern Convention & International Propane Expo in Nashville, Tennessee, April 23-25.

“As stewards of the industry and our environment, the easiest way we can ‘walk the walk’ is to embrace our own fuel in our fleet and take advantage of its reliability, cleaner emissions and the cost savings it provides,” says Jon Loeb, senior vice president of sales at ThompsonGas.

The propane vehicles operate on Roush CleanTech fuel systems, which are certified to the nitrogen oxide level of 0.02 g, making them 90 percent cleaner than heavy-duty engine standards.

“Time and time again, propane offers an economically smart choice for fleets of all sizes, especially propane suppliers,” says Todd Mouw, executive vice president for Roush CleanTech. “Our technology helps companies like ThompsonGas meet our nation’s shared sustainability goals.”

The medium and heavy-duty vehicles showcased will be a Ford F-550 service truck and Ford F-750 bobtail. The ThompsonGas fleet features nearly 130 propane vehicles.

“Propane is such a dynamic fuel and autogas is the turning point for our industry,” says Monte McLeod, director of autogas at ThompsonGas. “We are just beginning to scratch the surface of how versatile propane truly is.”

Propane Expo attendees can see the autogas vehicles at the Roush CleanTech booth, #118.

Founded in 1946, ThompsonGas provides propane services to more than 240,000 residential and commercial customers across 26 states in the East, Southeast, West and Midwest.

Last year, the company added 10 new 2022 Ford F-750 trucks equipped with Roush CleanTech propane systems. The company ranks No. 6 among U.S. propane marketers for sales of retail propane gallons, according to LP Gas’ 2023 Top Propane Retailers ranking.
