Valley Wide Cooperative expands into western Montana

October 8, 2025 By     0 Comments

Valley Wide Cooperative, a farmer-owned co-op in business since 1920, acquired the ThompsonGas/Propane Services Innovated (PSI) operations in Victor, Montana, and will retain its local employees.

According to the Idaho-based cooperative, the acquisition brings to western Montana a large regional energy supplier with a focus on customer service. It plans to provide expanded service to its current and future Montana customer base, with the goal of providing HVAC service and support for new system sales and service as well as maintenance.

Valley Wide Cooperative says it can meet the energy needs of any type of customer – agricultural, commercial or residential. It provides HVAC services, refined fuels, lubricants and propane to homeowners, government municipalities, farmers, ranchers, dairies and contractors across the Northwest.

Valley Wide ranked 21st on LP Gas’ 2025 Top Retailers list with 31 million gallons in annual propane sales for fiscal year 2024. It now has more than 20 energy locations. In addition to energy, it specializes in agronomy and retail farm supply.

PSI is a family business serving southwest Montana, with locations still in Butte and Dillon, Montana.
