MOPERC launches Beyond the Backyard: The Propane Podcast
In a move to bolster education and communication with external audiences on the uses and value of propane, the Missouri Propane Education and Research Council (MOPERC) recently launched Beyond the Backyard: The Propane Podcast.

“Our discussion centered around how younger people may not understand what propane is and its many uses,” Luke Fitzpatrick, Missouri Propane Gas Association (MPGA) and APGA CEO, says. “We’re excited to have made the podcast a reality with the goal to reach new markets and extend our reach.”
The monthly podcast is hosted by Molly Kemna, marketing and communications coordinator at MOPERC. Kemna will be talking with guests from across the propane industry spectrum, discussing topics from the basics of propane and safety considerations to using propane in residential, commercial and agricultural applications.
“Whether someone is a seasoned pro in the industry or someone is curious about clean, safe and reliable energy, Beyond the Backyard will be an engaging and informative resource,” Fitzpatrick says.
The first episode, Fueling the Future, features Kemna’s conversation with Mark Porth, MPGA board of directors president.
“Mark’s interview is great kickoff to the podcast,” Fitzpatrick said. “He and Molly talk about propane in everyday use and how MPGA is preparing the next generation for careers in propane.”
Beyond the Backyard is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, YouTube and at propanemissouri.com. Episodes air on the second Thursday of each month.
