How the LP Gas Growth Summit helped launch a lasting partnership

During the 2025 LP Gas Growth Summit, Steve Miller and Casey Dell had an engaging conversation with Ashley Campbell and Jason Erwin. The conversation was so engaging, in fact, that Miller and Dell soon decided to partner with them.

As owner of American Distributing Co., Miller was focused on creating a new website for his propane and heating oil business, which is based in Marysville, Washington. However, he needed assistance, preferably from a marketing expert.

Enter Warm Thoughts Communications. A marketing agency that focuses exclusively on the residential fuel and home comfort industries, it was a perfect fit for American Distributing Co.

“Through the Growth Summit’s one-on-one meetings, we were able to connect directly with Ashley and Jason,” Miller says. “And they were able to discuss their approach to supporting propane companies.”

The Growth Summit’s one-on-one meetings were the main reason Warm Thoughts Communications attended in the first place. According to Campbell, regional sales manager, the marketing agency was especially pleased with the meetings’ impact at the 2024 Growth Summit.

“Instead of hoping to run into the right people on a trade show floor, everyone has dedicated time to sit down and get to know one another,” Campbell says. “After attending for the first time, we saw the value firsthand.”

This value certainly continued in 2025, as Campbell and Erwin had productive conversations with a variety of potential clients. After all, in Erwin’s opinion, the one-on-one meetings “feel more like discovery conversations than sales calls.”

“Everyone comes prepared, and there’s dedicated time to learn about each other’s businesses,” says Erwin, national sales representative. “It’s an efficient format that leads to much more productive discussions than you typically have at a busy trade show.”

As a result of these productive conversations, Dell achieved more than he originally imagined. A first-time attendee, American Distributing Co. was interested in gaining further understanding about the propane industry’s emerging trends. It wanted to explore potential future partnerships and strategies, too – opportunities that would increase its bottom line.

He left not only with further knowledge, but he and Miller also acquired a partner in Warm Thoughts Communications, one that would help them achieve their website goals.

“Warm Thoughts Communications has a strong understanding of the propane industry and an ability to tailor marketing strategies specifically to companies like ours,” says Dell, operations manager.

This strong understanding has increasingly been noticed as Warm Thoughts Communications and American Distributing Co. have continued their conversations. After a few months of conversations, American Distributing Co. decided to hire Warm Thoughts Communications to create its new website. Launched in June, the website is already receiving positive feedback.

“We feel supported and confident in the direction we’re headed,” Dell explains. “Warm Thoughts Communications has helped us with our search engine optimizations while providing industry-specific expertise and making our website appear more visually appealing, too.”

Campbell believes the website is too new to measure long-term results. But she’s pleased with the project so far – to the point that she’s preparing to support American Distributing Co. with other marketing initiatives.

Dell agrees. He’s looking forward to seeing how Warm Thoughts Communications will continue to transform American Distributing Co.’s ideas into tangible results.

“They’ve taken our vision and incorporated our insights well, based on what they know works,” he says.

Due to this successful partnership, Erwin recommends other propane industry service providers attend the Growth Summit as well.

“The summit created an environment where real conversations can happen, as we’ve shown,” he says. “One meeting can turn into follow-up conversations and, ultimately, a new client relationship.”
