AJ Allmendinger to drive special-edition Suburban Propane Chevy at Bristol

Suburban Propane, a nationwide distributor of propane, renewable energy alternatives and related products and services, will serve as the primary sponsor of AJ Allmendinger’s No. 16 in the NASCAR Cup Series Bass Pro Shops Night Race on Sept. 19 at Bristol Motor Speedway, Kaulig Racing announced.

Suburban Propane is one of the nation’s top propane distributors, serving residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural customers across the United States. For nearly a century, the company has helped fuel homes, businesses and outdoor living applications while expanding its renewable energy solutions and increasing its community engagement.

As an official sponsor of NASCAR, Suburban Propane is connecting with passionate race fans through one of America’s most recognizable sports, the company says.

At Bristol Motor Speedway, located in Bristol, Tennessee, the No. 16 Suburban Propane driver has three top-10 finishes and led 78 laps in the NASCAR Cup Series. In the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, he has one win, one top-five finish and four top-10 finishes. He also has one NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start. It’s a track that Allmendinger favors.

“I do think the Bristol night race is probably one of the coolest races that we have in NASCAR,” Allmendinger says. “I always tell people that. If you haven’t been to a NASCAR race, I would say this one is the most special.

“Bristol at night is a lot of fun, and we have good memories there,” Allmendinger continues. “Winning the Xfinity (NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series) race and sitting on pole for the Cup race last year was special. I felt like in the spring there we were pretty good. We’re ready to go back there and build on what we learned earlier this year and bring home a strong finish for Suburban Propane.”

The NASCAR Cup Series Bristol Motor Speedway night race is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Eastern time and will be telecast live on USA, PRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Ch. 90).
