EDP hires industry veteran as central region vice president

EDP has hired Paige O’Dell as a new region vice president for the central U.S.

She brings more than 30 years of propane industry experience. Most recently, she has served as vice president of customer engagement for AmeriGas and prior to that as vice president of operations.

During her career, O’Dell has been active with many industry organizations, including the Propane Education & Research Council. She has served terms as both vice chair and membership chair for the Women in Propane Council. She also served as chair of the Women in LPG Committee for the World LPG Association.

O’Dell explained during a 2019 Women in Propane roundtable that each time she faced an obstacle in her career, she would “pause and find the lesson.” She had emphasized that operations and sales departments should build close relationships based on strong communication and teamwork. An effective team shows “trust, respect, and it has to be a family,” she said during the roundtable.

Throughout her career, O’Dell has been recognized for her ability to execute business strategies, increase efficiencies, and foster business and operational resilience, according to a news release from EDP.

“I am thrilled to have Paige O’Dell join our EDP executive team,” says Boyd McGathey, president and COO at EDP. “She is a highly strategic industry executive with tremendous experience leading teams, and I am confident she will quickly make a positive impact on our organization.”

Chris Daly, who was recently promoted to senior vice president of operations at the company, previously served in the role since May 2021.

Chicago-based EDP serves customers across 19 states and ranks ninth in LP Gas’ 2023 Top Propane Retailers rankings for highest gallon sales. CEO Tom Knauff launched EDP in 2012, and the company has completed 35 acquisitions.
