July 2021: U.S. liquids pipeline projects

Each month, LP Gas provides updates on the U.S. propane market, as well as the latest trends. The data for July 2021 focuses on U.S. liquids pipeline projects.

Stock information for Ferrellgas and Suburban Propane is also provided.

PROPANE MARKET METRICS

So far in 2021, two petroleum liquids pipeline projects have been completed and 17 more projects have been announced or are currently under construction, according to updated data in the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s Liquids Pipeline Projects Database. That total includes 12 crude oil projects, six hydrocarbon gas liquids (HGL) projects and one petroleum product project. In 2020, 24 petroleum liquids pipeline projects were completed, including 12 HGL projects. Energy Transfer Partner’s 350-mile Mariner East 2 Pipeline bypass – which carries propane, butane and natural gasoline – is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2021, according to the database. Note: The data for 2021 is from January to April.
