Pennsylvania school district commits fleet to autogas

The East Stroudsburg Area School District approved the purchase of 52 propane-powered school buses and vans, according to the Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Pocono Record.

The bids approved for the propane vehicles include 36 72-passenger buses, six 48-passenger vans equipped with wheelchair lifts and 10 30-passenger vans. East Stroudsburg expects to receive the new vehicles in July 2017, the Pocono Record reports.

East Stroudsburg plans to transition its entire bus fleet to autogas over a three-year period, according to the school district. The school district’s fleet is composed of more than 100 vehicles that serve thousands of students in the eastern Pennsylvania community.
