ThompsonGas acquires TruFlame Gas

October 27, 2021 By

ThompsonGas, headquartered in Frederick, Maryland, purchased TruFlame Gas Co., which operates six locations in Georgia and serves residential, commercial and agricultural customers.

“We are excited to expand our footprint in Georgia while adding a highly-talented workforce,” says Sean Daugherty, Southeast area director at ThompsonGas. “Our new teammates bring a fresh perspective with their youth and experience, and we look forward to partnering with them to provide value-added services to their customers and the communities they serve.”

This acquisition strengthens ThompsonGas’ capabilities in the Southeast and is the company’s sixth acquisition of 2021. This year, the company also acquired Polar Gas of Colorado; Timberline Gas and its affiliates in the Rocky Mountain region; Ultra Energy of Hammond, Wisconsin; certain bulk propane assets of Airgas USA in Maryland, southeastern Pennsylvania and West Virginia; and All Service Propane of Anderson, California.

Founded in 1946, ThompsonGas provides propane services to more than 250,000 residential, commercial and agricultural customers across 25 states in all regions of the U.S. The company ranks No. 6 among U.S. propane marketers for sales of retail propane gallons, according to LP Gas’ 2021 Top Propane Retailers ranking.
