Long-range chipset from BASE Engineering

BASE Engineering released a new long-range chipset. According to BASE, this new wireless chipset option can increase range, reliability and installation flexibility, beginning with the BASE Engineering portfolio of Ranger and ProControl handheld communication devices. The long-range chipset can exceed 1,000 ft. of range for installations that feature external antennas. However, the long-range chipset also enables device-to-device communication in worksite environments where external antennas are not required, resulting in a cleaner, faster installation. According to the company, the BASE Engineering Ranger and ProControl Series of handheld devices, along with compatible A and C receivers, can now be outfitted with the new long-range chipset. Customers with existing DSS-based handhelds and receivers can purchase a drop-in upgrade kit through the BASE technical support team.
