“I’m excited for this new opportunity at Ferrellgas. This company has a strong history within the propane industry, and I look forward to being a part of Ferrellgas’ future,” she says in a news release.

Bimson Maggi has decades of experience within the propane industry. She advocates for industry organizations, Ferrellgas says, and she was the first female chairperson of the National Propane Gas Association’s (NPGA) board of directors.

After being sworn in by NPGA in 2022, Bimson Maggi recognized the importance of the moment, saying she’s “very proud” to become NPGA’s first female chair and hopes she serves as an example for other women who see her and consider undertaking leadership positions within the association.

“Our industry needs people from all different backgrounds, professions, capabilities to meet the challenges we have for us,” she said at the time.

Bimson Maggi was also a member of the Propane Education & Research Council’s environmental working group that developed the “Energy for Everyone” campaign and tagline.

“I love advocating for the propane industry and its employees,” she says.

Ferrellgas President and CEO Tamria Zertuche says she is looking forward to having Bimson Maggi as part of the Ferrellgas team.

“Michelle’s diverse background and industry experience makes her an exciting addition to our company,” Zertuche says. “I am looking forward to all that she will accomplish.”

Bimson Maggi has a Bachelor of Arts in government and politics from the University of Maryland. She received her Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law in Delaware.

Bimson Maggi grew up in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, 20 miles outside Washington, D.C. Growing up near the nation’s capital impacted her life, she explained in a 2020 interview with LP Gas. She remembers many school field trips to the capital, and it’s “one of the reasons why I went into government and politics. It was in my backyard.”

Ferrellgas is the nation’s second-largest propane retailer, selling more than 600 million gallons annually, according to LP Gas’ 2024 Top Propane Retailer rankings.
