A.O. Smith’s Cyclone LV is the newest addition to its high-efficiency commercial gas water heater line. A new modulating process adjusts the burner’s firing rate to a specific demand, which increases energy efficiency and dramatically lowers operating costs, according to the company. These units create a larger footprint and increase efficiency, allowing contractors to spec two Cyclone LV units for every four Cyclone Mxi. Additionally, the Cyclone LV features advanced electronic control with built-in diagnostics. iCOMM is a compatible network, ready for remote monitoring. Other features of the LV model include maneuverability and ease of installation due to its lightweight design and expanded footprint, a helical coil heat exchanger that maximizes heat transfer for optimal service life and the PermaGlas glass-lining process that provides tank protection against corrosion. Models are available from 150,000 to 500,000 Btu/hour and deliver thermal efficiencies to 96 percent, the company adds. The Cyclone LV is ideal for any commercial application with short-period peak demand, such as hotels, arenas, convention centers and schools.
