EDP acquires Hocon Gas
EDP has acquired Hocon Gas, a Connecticut-based provider of propane, fuel oil and related services. Hocon Gas operates from five locations within Connecticut, serving more than 35,000 customers throughout the state.

“We are pleased to welcome Hocon Gas to the EDP family,” says Kevin Pollack, CEO of EDP. “The organization’s longstanding commitment to operational excellence and customer service reflects the values established by its founder and carried forward by David [Gable] and his team. This acquisition provides EDP with a statewide presence in the Connecticut market. We are honored to be a part of the next chapter of Hocon’s growth.”
Hocon Gas was founded over 75 years ago by Mike Gable and his wife, Lauree, beginning with a single location in Norwalk. In 1980, the leadership of the company transitioned to their son, David Gable, who expanded the business through the addition of four locations. He has been an active participant in national and regional propane industry associations for many years, EDP notes.
“I have known EDP’s senior leadership for many years and have consistently believed that their business model and reputation would make them the ideal steward of Hocon Gas,” says Gable. “I am confident that EDP will continue to support our employees and customers and am very pleased with this outcome.”
