European LPG Association launches new name, visual identity

September 7, 2018 By

The European LPG Association, formerly known as AEGPL, has renamed itself Liquid Gas Europe and updated its logo and visual identity to reflect the change. The change was announced to members of the association and representatives from the industry at a cocktail party in Brussels, Belgium.

“We believe that the time for complex acronyms has passed. We want to have a name that immediately explains what we do, and an image that shows how dynamic and energetic our industry is,” says Samuel Maubanc, general manager of Liquid Gas Europe. “I think we achieved that and we look forward to continuing our work in Brussels highlighting the benefits of LPG as a safe, clean and versatile source of energy.”

Liquid Gas Europe is also celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The group was founded in 1968, and since then it has moved from Paris, France, to Brussels where it currently houses a seven-member staff.

“Not many associations last half a century, and we are proud that we have been able to grow more and more genuine and useful for all this time,” says Francesco Franchi, president of Liquid Gas Europe. “This was only possible because we kept reinventing ourselves. We were originally an association of associations – today we represent the full LPG supply chain from distributors to equipment manufacturers.”
