Flare stack features Edison Laboratories’ approval

Smart Stack was developed to flare propane more efficiently and safely, says manufacturer Nova Gas Solutions. According to the company, the Smart Stack is the only approved flare stack in North America. The company says approval from Edison Laboratories took about one year to complete. Among the features of the flaring stack are a lockout switch, smash-button shutdown, high-gas-pressure shutdown, dual-valve main gas valves, flame arrestors and a combustion control computer. Nova Gas says a full 20-pound cylinder can be emptied in three minutes.
