Former president, CEO demonstrated leadership, dedication

Michael Dunn, former president and CEO of Suburban Propane, died at the age of 71.

Dunn was born July 8, 1949, in Philadelphia. He had been a resident of Naples, Florida, since 2014, after moving from Morristown, New Jersey.

Dunn was a graduate of La Salle University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing. After relocating to the New York City area, he worked at Goldman Sachs Group for 18 years.

Following his time with Goldman Sachs, he joined Suburban Propane as the vice president of product supply. Over the course of 17 years, he worked his way up to become the president and CEO of the company. He retired from Suburban Propane in 2014.

“Michael Dunn was a real visionary for Suburban Propane for more than 15 years,” says Nandini Sankara, spokesperson of Suburban Propane. “In his tenure as president and CEO, his leadership took the company through a significant period of growth and laid the foundation for its position as a leader in the propane industry. On behalf of our entire Suburban Propane family, we salute Mike for his leadership and extend our deepest condolences to his family during this difficult time.”
