Hanbay to display new ESV actuator at Propane Expo
Hanbay Inc. will showcase its new emergency shutoff valve (ESV) actuator at this year’s NPGA Southeastern Convention & International Propane Expo. These actuators can be used to handle propane, propane vapor, anhydrous ammonia or other propane byproducts. Its dual fail-safe feature provides operators with additional safety for controlling flammable or highly corrosive media in hazardous locations and ensures quick and safe valve closure in the event of accidental or intentional power loss. In the event of a fire, the fusible link mechanically fails at temperatures exceeding 212 degrees F (100 degrees C), closing the valve. The thermal fuse embedded inside the CSA/UL-rated Class 1 Division 1 explosion-proof enclosure provides a supplementary layer of protection. These actuators can be used with any ESV, and users can retrofit the ESV actuators on existing installations. Internal heaters prevent Hanbay actuators from freezing or locking up in winter conditions.
