Industry leader Nunan dies

people-nunanTom Nunan, a propane industry patriarch who helped make Suburban Propane a public company in 1996, died Sunday in Oceanside, Calif. He was 79.

Nunan was a president of the Young Gassers and a founding director of the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC), serving the council from 1997 to 2005. He was also PERC’s vice chairman of marketers from 2000 to 2002. Nunan worked in the energy industry for 50 years. He rose to vice president of sales at Suburban Propane before retiring in 1999.
