The propane industry recently lost longtime leader Kenneth Koeller of Bergen County, New Jersey, who died on April 14 at the age of 90.

Koeller established Yankee Propane in 1989 in Florida, New York, with his son-in-law Peter Guerci. In 1994, Koeller founded another company, Virginia Propane, with his other son-in-law, Ronald Mitchell, in Ashland, Virginia. In 2017, both Yankee Propane and Virginia Propane were sold to Superior Plus.

Funeral services for Koeller were held in Hawthorne, New Jersey, on April 20.
