Longtime Ohio Propane Gas Association participant dies

Winifred Lucille Rupert, an active participant in the Ohio Propane Gas Association, died Jan. 30 at the age of 98. Rupert participated in the Ohio Propane Gas Association for more than 40 years. She and her husband, Floyd D., entered the propane industry in 1959 to work at Ohio Gas & Appliance Co., the family propane business in Columbus.

Winnie served as the secretary for Ohio Gas & Appliance from the 1970s through 1999 when the couple sold the business. Winnie was also well known in the National Propane Gas Association since her husband served as Ohio’s national director.
