Partnership provides training for engine, fuel programs
The United States Department of Energy’s (DOE) Clean Cities Program announced a new partnership with the Propane Education & Research Council to develop, design and maintain a Web site and a companion seminar series that will serve as an online training forum for propane engine and fuel programs. The effort is made possible by a grant from the U.S. DOE’s National Propane Grant Program administered through the Maryland Energy Administration. The webinars will be scheduled on the third Thursday of every month and present relevant propane topics. They will be designed to educate fleets and other stakeholders to successfully deploy propane-powered vehicle projects that increase the number of propane gallons sold, reduce America’s dependence on petroleum and reduce emissions from conventionally powered vehicles. Webinars will address a range of applications, including airport development projects, on-road applications, idle-reduction technologies and lawn and garden equipment. In addition to the “Third Thursday” webinars, a number of “Training Tuesday” and “Free for All Friday” webinars will be hosted to provide further propane-related learning opportunities. All of the webinars are free, though participation is limited to the first 100 registrants. Once registered for a webinar, students will be sent participant information.
