Makeen Energy offers full-body leak detection of LPG cylinders

January 12, 2022 By

The LPG cylinder body leak detector by Makeen Energy detects leaks from the cylinder body, the valve and its connection. The unit uses the same technology as Makeen Energy’s newly developed infrared test head CIR-II. It operates automatically to eliminate the risk of human errors. It detects leaks down to 0.5 grams per hour, with a capacity of up to 1,800 cylinders per hour. All test results can be recorded and documented. It gives a 100 percent repeatable and reliable test result with the intrinsically safe infrared detection technology, according to the company. The detector was the winner in the safety category at the World LPG Association’s 2021 Global Technology Conference. Makeen Energy plans to test the product at its Missouri facility around April, and make it available to the U.S. a month later.
