Exmark mower features propane-specific engine package

March 13, 2013 By

Exmark is now offering a propane-fueled Lazer Z S-Series zero-turn rider, featuring a new Kohler propane electronic fuel injection powerplant, through its nationwide dealer network. According to the company, the engine improves the mower’s ability to start, perform and reduce fuel consumption. The increased fuel efficiency allows Exmark to achieve up to 7.5 hours of operation with the mower on a single tank of fuel, the company says. The Kohler powerplant, Exmark adds, is the first dedicated, propane-fueled electronic fuel injection engine package that operates without conversions or aftermarket systems. The automotive-style closed-loop system optimizes air/fuel settings based on exhaust output, in real time, to maximize performance and efficiency while minimizing emissions and eliminating carburetor-related issues, the company says. The electronically controlled start-up simplifies the sequence and eliminates the need for a choke.
