Paraco celebrated its first Founders Day on Feb. 16.

The day pays homage to company founder Pat Armentano, who, in 1968, started the business in a garage in Mount Vernon, New York. While Paraco’s roots began in industrial gas, a transition to propane in 1979 laid the foundation for the company’s continued growth.

According to the company, the new tradition is not just a tribute to Paraco’s past but also a testament to the company’s commitment to fostering a culture of excellence.

As part of this year’s Founders Day celebration, Paraco selected the recipient of its sixth annual Pat Armentano Legacy Award. This honor is bestowed upon individuals who embody the values and dedication that define the founder.

This year’s award went to Scott Tucker, operations process manager based in Saugerties, New York.

The award ceremony, held at the corporate headquarters in Rye Brook, New York, honored Tucker’s commitment and excellence. Reporting to Megan Carr, director of logistics and business intelligence, Tucker exemplifies the true spirit of a team player, says the company.

“Founders Day is a poignant moment for us to reflect on the journey that began with my grandfather, Pat Armentano,” says Christina Armentano, COO of Paraco. “It’s a celebration of persistence, hard work, growth and the remarkable individuals, like Scott Tucker, who continue to drive Paraco’s success. As we honor our past, we look to the future with commitment and optimism.”
