PERC boosts incentives for using propane-powered mowers

December 4, 2014 By

Landscape contractors who need a reason to use propane-powered mowers are in luck as the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) extended the double incentives it offers through its Propane Mower Incentive Program.

Program participants now have until March 31 to earn $2,000 toward the purchase of a new propane-powered mower and $1,000 toward a qualified conversion, twice as much as the amount PERC typically offers. These double incentives were due to expire at the end of this year.

PERC launched the Propane Mower Incentive Program in 2012 to help landscape contractors offset the cost of converting their fleets to propane. So far this year, nearly 600 landscape contractors have received incentive dollars in exchange for data about their usage and mower performance.

Landscape contractors can apply for the Propane Mower Incentive Program here.

In addition, many state propane associations offer additional incentives for propane-powered mowers that can be combined with the Propane Mower Incentive Program’s incentives.
