PERC presents at World LP Gas Forum

September 14, 2012 By

The Propane Education & Research Council was represented at the World LP Gas Forum this week in Bali, Indonesia. Tucker Perkins, chief business development officer, and Greg Kerr, director of research and development, presented to forum attendees.

Perkins provided an overview of the U.S. propane industry, discussing challenges presented by warm weather and the downturn in the housing market, along with opportunities seen in the growth of propane autogas, the rising commercial mower marketplace and promising technology like generators and irrigation engines that PERC helped to develop.

Kerr presented his study on LP gas fuel quality and remediation in the United States. His paper at last year’s World LP Gas Association conference in Doha, Qatar, was named the runner-up for the organization’s 2012 Innovation Award. The paper showed that propane could reduce fuel needs by 50 percent compared with commonly used open torch equipment, the association had reported.
