PERC to host 2018 National Trainer’s Conference in January

The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) will host the 2018 National Trainer’s Conference on Jan. 16-17 at the Embassy Suites San Antonio Riverwalk in San Antonio.

The conference is designed to provide propane industry safety trainers with best practices aimed at enhancing the skills needed to convey important information that allows for greater student retention of complex technical concepts.

According to PERC, attendees will also learn and receive training on many of the council’s training tools, such as blended learning, refresher training, safety presentations and HVAC/plumber training.

There will also be a panel discussion of propane professionals on topics such as training challenges, CSR training, state-specific compliance issues and insurance issues.

Other topics to be covered at the conference include updated information on CETP certification and current regulatory activities.

There will also be a special breakout session for state associations aimed at addressing challenges associated with providing training for their members.

Featured speakers include Jan Bray, chief strategist of Bray Strategies; John Hansen, partner at McCoy, Leavitt & Laskey; and Susan Taylor of Dashe & Thomson.

According to PERC, the target audience for the event includes: industry state association executives; propane industry trainer, both those that provide in-house and for-hire training; and anyone who has a stake in advancing workforce training in the propane industry.
