Whiting Oil and Gas Corp. constructs gas processing plant in North Dakota

October 6, 2011 By

Whiting Oil and Gas Corp. is building a $90 million gas processing plant near Belfield, N.D., capable of processing 30 million cubic feet of gas per day. The plant will enable Whiting to process gas from local oil deposits and transport natural gas via pipeline across the country in the form of propane, butane and gasoline. According to The Dickinson Press in North Dakota, Denver-based Whiting had 2,200 wells and 580,000 acres in 13 states in 2010, and it currently has about 500 oil rigs in North Dakota. Westcon Inc. is handling construction of the plant, which should be fully operational in November.
