Propane part of Caterpillar portfolio for gas compression engines
Caterpillar Oil & Gas says its products and services for the gas compression industry help customers cost-effectively meet their environmental, social and governance goals. Cat gas compression engines are used in oil and gas transportation applications. The gas compression engines are the prime movers for gas lift, gas gathering, wellhead gas compression, pipeline compression, storage, gathering and reinjection. With advanced combustion technology, engines can burn a variety of fuels, including natural gas, field gas, coal bed methane, wellhead gas, propane and low-energy gas. The company also offers electric motors. It promoted emerging sustainability trends at the Gas Machinery Conference in October. The company has manufactured engines for the oilfield since the 1930s.
