PSI’s propane-powered engine garnered Environmental Protection Agency certification.

Power Solutions International (PSI) received Environmental Protection Agency certification for its 40-liter stationary spark-ignited engine. The certification covers both stationary and mobile non-road emission regulations for constant speed operation on both commercial pipeline-quality natural gas and propane. The engine has a range of 600 kWe to 800 kWe and is ready for production, the company reports. The engine is part of PSI’s expanded natural gas product line, which ranges from 2.4 liters to 65 liters of displacement and 25 kWe to 1.2 MW. The new engine is fitted with the company’s fuel and emission control systems, which are designed to provide application-specific performance.
