Southern States Co-op launches Fueling FFA campaign

Southern States Cooperative is launching its first annual Fueling FFA (Future Farmers of America) campaign in an effort to raise money to help young, future farmers in North Carolina.

To support the cause, the company will donate a portion of its propane sales from one of its propane trucks to the North Carolina FFA Association.

“Young farmers are the future of food production,” Jeff Stroburg, president and CEO of Southern States, says. “As a farmer-owned cooperative, we take tremendous pride in investing in the young farmers of America and will continue to contribute to their development as future leaders in agriculture.”

“We appreciate that Southern States sees agricultural education and FFA as a critical part of the future of the agricultural industry,” Alycia Thornton, director of development for the North Carolina FFA Foundation, says. “The contributions from Southern States help us achieve the FFA vision of growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture. Working together, our two organizations will make a tremendous difference in the lives of young people.”

The truck will be a part of the company’s Siler City Service fleet, and will begin making propane deliveries to central North Carolina residents.
