Tank monitoring radio transmits tank-level data to dealer system
Technology Assurance Labs debuted a remote tank monitoring radio aimed at the underground tank market. The tank monitor radio fits under the dome of underground tanks, with a flush mounted external antenna on top of the dome. The device regularly transmits tank-level data to a dealer’s Overhead Wireless Logic System (OWL) software portal, which can be accessed with a laptop, smartphone or tablet with a Web browser. The device provides a monthly usage invoice so dealers can offer a pay-as-you-go service. The company says the radio sensor is economical enough for use on residential propane tanks and pays for itself in a couple of saved truck rolls.
