Waterside Energy plans to build LP gas export facility

Waterside Energy proposed to build the Washington Energy Storage & Transfer facility in Longview, Wash., and use it to receive, store and export LP gas to markets around the Pacific rim.

According to a project overview from the company, Waterside Energy would invest more than $450 million in the facility. The facility would have the capability to receive 75,000 barrels per day of LP gas via rail, sourced from western Canada and North Dakota, and store 1.1 million barrels of product. The capacity and throughput would allow the departure of about four very large gas carriers per month.

The company plans to hire 300 people for the construction of the facility and 32 people to work full time there.

Waterside Energy previously proposed to build an $800-plus million micro-refinery in Longview to supply renewable fuels to the region. Construction of the refinery was proposed on non-port property adjacent to the Port of Longview, and the company would seek commercial terms to move commodities through the port.
