Wisconsin company acquired, renamed WB Tank & Equipment

April 28, 2020 By

Wisconsin-based WB Sales has been sold and is now WB Tank & Equipment.

Founders Bruce and Wendy Kleespie sold the business to daughter McKinsey and son-in-law Adam Gazapian, who renamed it as WB Tank & Equipment.

WB Tank & Equipment is a buyer and distributor of refurbished, new and used domestic propane tanks and cylinders. The company refurbishes tanks ranging in size from 100 pounds to 420 pounds. In addition, it buys and sells storage tanks with capacities ranging from 12,000 gallons to 120,000 gallons.

When refurbishing tanks, the company inspects, vacuum purges, sandblasts, paints and installs new valves and gauges when available. It has customers across the country in all 48 contiguous states.

The Gazapians have experience in the industry. McKinsey worked at the company for two years prior to the sale, while Adam owned trucking and construction company AG Construction and worked as a contractor to WB Sales.

The company has evolved since its founding more than 30 years ago, when it began as strictly a sales company. Since then, the company has expanded to include a refurbishing plant, built by Adam, to buy, sell and distribute tanks. Under its new ownership and name, the husband-wife duo plans to further grow the business.

“We’ll always invest time into producing and maintaining quality production,” Adam says. “But to expand on our operations, we would like to get into some real opportunities with propane terminals and transloading of other agricultural and bulk commodities.”
