Women in Propane Council appoints leaders for 2013

October 16, 2012 By

Jill Hopkins and Jane Stroupe were appointed chair and vice chair, respectively, for NPGA’s Women in Propane Council. They will begin one-year terms on Jan. 1, 2013, the council announced.

Hopkins serves as the secretary-treasurer and CFO of Sheldon Oil Co. and Sheldon Gas Co., a retail propane sales, service and delivery business founded by her grandfather. She is an NPGA board member at large.

Stroupe, who launched her propane industry career more than 30 years ago, is AmeriGas’ area director for districts in South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. She supervises 23 district locations with 200 employees.

Nancy Coop, the council’s current chair and a sales and marketing consultant from JARCO, will assume the post of immediate past chair. The council will begin staffing its three standing committees – Leadership, Membership, and Programs and Events – later this year.
