AmeriGas, Paraco Gas appoint new members to boards of directors

February 1, 2013 By

Propane retailers AmeriGas and Paraco Gas announced changes to their boards of directors this week.

AmeriGas elected Anne Pol to its board and announced the retirement of Stephen Ban from the board.

Pol retired in 2005 as president and COO of Trex Enterprises Corp., a high technology research and development company. Previously, she served as senior vice president of Thermo Electron Corp., an environmental monitoring and analytical instruments company and a major producer of recycling equipment, biomedical products and alternative energy systems. Pol also served as president of Pitney Bowes Shipping and Weighing Systems Division, a business unit of Pitney Bowes Inc.

Paraco Gas appointed Steven A. Fournier and Dennis E. Glazer to its board of directors – the first time non-family members have served on the board, the company announced.

Fournier is chairman and CEO of Gar Kenyon Aerospace & Defense in Naugatuck, Conn. He has extensive experience in operations and finance, as well as mergers and acquisitions, Paraco says. He is also a certified public accountant; a former partner at Deloitte, Haskins & Sells; and he previously served as president and COO of a diversified, privately held real estate and manufacturing holding company.

Fournier serves on the Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce (Conn.) board of directors and executive committee, as well as the board of directors of the Naugatuck Chamber of Commerce (Conn.). He has been a member of numerous not-for-profit boards.

Glazer, a business lawyer and strategic counselor to public corporations, financial institutions and privately held companies, brings 31 years of expertise to his new appointment.

His current positions include director of AppOrchard LLC, an Internet development company; chairman of the board of Lawrence Hospital Center in Bronxville, N.Y.; and vice chairman of Stellaris Health Network in Armonk, N.Y. He has served as chairman of the strategic planning committee of the Bronxville School and chairman of the nonpartisan committee for the selection of Bronxville School trustees.
