Industry continues efforts toward centennial celebration

The Propane Centennial Committee (PCC) launched a dedicated centennial website at www.propane100.org.

The website includes a unique timeline of the past 100 years of the industry, a photo gallery and an events calendar. All industry members are encouraged to add history, photos and content to make the centennial website a comprehensive history of the industry and people.

In other centennial news:

■ The PCC Task Force launched a raffle to promote clean propane technology and to help support the work of the volunteer group. The raffle will include a grand prize of a 2012 Roush liquid propane-injected Ford F-250 and other prizes. The raffle drawing will take place on April 15 during the 2012 NPGA Southeastern Convention & International Propane Expo in Atlanta. Official rules and details can be found on the centennial website.

■ The PCC approved the concept of a “traveling museum,” which will showcase interesting artifacts, photos and memories collected by PCC members. The museum will be unveiled at the 2012 Southeastern show and then travel to the Midwest and Western shows as well as Propane Days in Washington, D.C.

■ NPGA leadership approved a Propane Autogas Clean Air Parade. The event will take place on April 14 around Centennial Park in Atlanta to kick off the 2012 Southeastern show. It will highlight propane as a clean vehicle fuel.
