Transition at the top for Heritage Propane: Grady replaces retiring Powers as president

May 4, 2011 By

Bill Powers, president of Heritage Propane, will retire on June 30, and Paul Grady, currently senior vice president and chief operating officer, will succeed him on July 1, the propane division of Energy Transfer Partners LP announced.

With a career in senior executive positions in the propane and fuel oil business for more than 30 years, Powers intends to devote more time to various charitable and non-profit interests. He called his years with Heritage “the most exciting and fulfilling of my career, both professionally and personally.”

Grady (pictured here) became COO of Heritage Propane in 2006 after the company’s merger with Titan Propane. He has held similar positions at Titan and other majors. Grady is also a founding council member of the Propane Education & Research Council and is currently vice chairman – marketers.

“We thank Bill for his leadership of Heritage as president the last three years, and we all wish him well in his future endeavors,” Grady said. “Bill’s laser-like focus on the company’s mission – to be the safest, most customer focused and successful propane company in America – will be his legacy.”
