3Eight Energy to help propane retailers build supply partnerships

July 8, 2019 By

This spring marked the launch of 3Eight Energy, a new wholesale and consulting company focusing on the independent propane retailer in the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic states.

A subsidiary of the Blossman Companies Inc. and based in North Carolina, 3Eight Energy was created to help propane dealers capitalize on relationships with producers, midstream companies and transportation providers by creating strategic partnerships.

Thirty-year industry veteran Phil Farris serves as the director of wholesale marketing at 3Eight Energy. He also serves on the Propane Education & Research Council and the North Carolina Propane Gas Association/Propane Education & Research Foundation board.

“Our message to dealers will be: What are the needs of your retail business and how can 3Eight help you to accomplish your goals?” Farris says. “We recognize the gap between the NGL producer, who doesn’t have the resources to manage a ‘wholesale to retail’ relationship, and the independent retailer, who likewise doesn’t have the resources to deal with a fast-moving global energy market. What we’re offering is a partnership, bringing all the various components of supply together to create a team that aims to accomplish growth by ensuring reliable supply and a seamless transition from wholesale purchases to retail sales.”
