Conformable autogas tanks can be positioned three ways

Propane Performance Industries (PPI) secured American Society of Mechanical Engineers approval for its family of conformable aluminum propane autogas fuel tanks. According to PPI, the conformable tank design means that, unlike a cylinder, the width measurement is not the same as the height. This allows the PPI tanks to fill spaces in a vehicle more efficiently and provide more capacity than regular cylinders, the company says. In addition, PPI says a tank can be positioned horizontally, vertically or on its edge.
