Ferrellgas executive vice president, COO resigns

October 28, 2015 By

Boyd McGathey is resigning as executive vice president and COO of Ferrellgas Inc., effective Oct. 31, according to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing by the company. McGathey has served in the role for Ferrellgas for about the last five years, but he also spent about 12 years in a separate stint with the Overland Park, Kan.-based company, as senior vice president and COO. McGathey also previously served as COO and a partner with Liberty Propane before Inergy acquired the company in 2010, making him a division president. The National Propane Gas Association lists McGathey as a director at large. Ferrellgas is the nation’s second-largest retail propane company and, in the last couple of years, has been developing a midstream side of its business operations. The company has not named a successor for the position.
